Data Analyst/ Scientist – App Innovation, Personal Shopping, Customer Recommendations, Python, SQL
6 Month contract (with extensions expected)
Fully remote with occasional meetings on site with heads of departments and CEO
£350 - 400 Outside IR35
Are you a Analyst who helps businesses understand how they can predict tomorrow's best sellers and improve customer experience?
Sentinel is working with a large high street retailer who are looking to add a Lead Data Scientist to their arsenal. You'll be responsible for leading the team understanding how customers shop and what the best way of maximising the efficiency of the search results. You'll be working on short ML hypotheses, A/B testing different methods and deep learning models to predicts tomorrow's best seller, based on a number of factors including customer behaviours, profitability and accuracy of search.
Skills & Experience:
We are looking for someone that has a strong mix of the following skills and experience:
- Python and SQL
- experience A/B testing ML models
- Primary and freestyle search functions
- Being able to guide and help out with the more junior members of the team
- PySpark/ Spark experience scaling products and business ideas
- Databricks skills would be a bonus
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Responsibilities:
As the Lead Data Science Consultant you’ll be responsible for:
- A/B testing various ML models
- BAU work that comes from the other teams in data, as well as ideas from the CEO directly
- Increase the capacity and working efficiency of the team
- Longer term pieces looking at Deep Learning models that can predict tomorrow's best sellers and how profitable they are going to be
- Increasing the accuracy of recalling last searched items, whilst also offering new alternatives
- Presenting updates to senior management, including the CEO
