OT System Engineers / OT System Developers

Location: Perth

Salary - £50,00-£61,000

Hybrid: 3-4 days in office

Our client is building out its Operational Technology team and are looking for OT System Engineers / OT System Developers to work as part of the Technology Operations team (TechOps), taking responsibility for providing development services to the Control Centre for all OT applications by responding to business needs for  development, change requests and upgrades to organisation’s suite of OT systems.

Candidates for this role will be required to obtain vetting to SC level which requires  5 years UK residency

Day to Day Responsibilities:

  • Help with analysis of existing control systems and identification of improvements requiring development or upgrades
  • Collaboratively determine the causes of failures and drive improvement plans. This will include detailed analysis of failures/trends, based on weather, electrical load, repetitive failures, and other causes.
  • Help introduce new technologies, help deliver detailed proof of concepts, research developing industry trends and recommend strategic improvements.
  • You will have involvement in Cyber Security systems, by actively monitoring and reviewing the health and security of these systems. This will include participating in Cyber Response activities (both actual and mock).

Skills & Experience Required:

  • Degree level (or equivalent) qualification in an IT/Computing, Engineering or Science based discipline or experience of working with OT (operational technology, industrial control systems/ICS, power systems etc)
  • Development experience on OT applications /systems
  • Customer facing ability
  • Experience of Windows and Linux
  • Scripting experience (for automation)
  • It is preferable to have a full, current driving licence.
